Staggerwing / Beechcraft Model C17L /WWII Utility Plane Greetings and Welcome For your consideration, from my personal collection, I am offering an original, authentic, 1985 lithograph of the Beechcraft Model C17L Staggerwing, an American biplane, manufactured by Beech Aircraft Corporation, as a large, powerful and fast biplane built specifically for the business executive. The Beechcraft Model 17, popularly known as the "Staggerwing", was first flown on November 4, 1932, setting the standard for private passenger airplanes for many years to come. It was considered, during its time, to be the premier executive aircraft. Its unusual wing configuration, the upper wing inversely staggered behind the lower and unique shape resulted in a design that maximized the pilot's visibility while minimizing the aircraft's tendency to stall. The construction of the plane was complex and took many manhours to complete. In the mid-1930s, Beech made major modifications to the aircraft, improving landing, flying and braking, thereby, enhancing the Staggerwing's performance. During wartime, it was used as an ambulance plane, liaison aircraft, courier aircraft and light personnel transports. The lithograph was published by Air Age Publishing in 1985. The image is meticulously and expertly taken from an outstanding photograph by nationally recognized aviator, Budd Davisson. The pictured aircraft is owned and piloted by Fred Morris. This authentic "first-run" color art lithograph was printed from the original plates in 1985 on the highest quality paper. The piece has never been matted, framed, hung nor displayed, but has been properly stored and undisturbed since creation. The lithograph which you are considering is in near mint/mint condition, clean, untouched and suitable for framing. The dimension of the image is 17.5" x 13". The dimension of the finished lithograph is 20" x 16". The lithographic workmanship in this creation is detailed and extraordinary. The colors are robust, vivid and vibrant. This would be an exciting addition for any aviation enthusiast or collector of amazing vintage aircraft. Payment, Shipping, Return & Customer Service Policies Check out my other items!
